Government’s fund rises by 146 bln rbl thanks to Norilsk’s fine

MOSCOW, Apr 14 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to raise the government’s reserve fund by 146 billion rubles paid by metals giant Norilsk Nickel as a fine for harm to the environment after a breakdown at its thermal power plant in Norilsk, according to the documents released on the state portal for legal information on Wednesday.

“The Finance Ministry… is to adjust the federal budget for 2021 by increasing the government’s reserve fund by 145.79 billion rubles… received as payment for the harm done to the water bodies owned by the Russian Federation,” the document read.
